D R E S S  C O D E

(Dress code applies for everyone present at the formal.)

Girls:

This is a formal dress event. After much contemplation and prayer, we have consolidated the following dress code to certify:

  1. Modesty

  2. Choosing the befitting attire for the evening. We want your evening to be enjoyable without having to battle the appropriate placement of your gown.

  3. When you are dress shopping we highly recommend moving around in your gown before you purchase it. Standing in a dress is much different than walking, sitting, or dancing in a gown. Consider your unique body type.

Long dresses are preferred. At minimum, your dress must be below the knee cap or longer (tea-length).

Dresses with an open back must not fall below the top of the bra strap.

Straps are highly suggested. Straps must be two fingers wide or wider. However if you select a strapless dress, a dress with straps thinner than two fingers wide, a halter dress, a dress with one strap, or a dress with off-shoulder straps, we ask that you wear a shawl or covering on your shoulders at all times.

Dresses WILL NOT expose any kind of cleavage or fall below the bust line.

No cleavage windows or cleavage slits will be permitted.

Two piece dresses MUST overlap at the waist; meaning the top must overlap the skirt at all times, even when your arms are raised above your head.

Midriff will not be revealed. This includes the front and the side.

Dresses with a slit must not exceed the mid-thigh (below the fingertips).

Undergarments should not be visible. See through apparel or see through panels are not allowed.

If these rules are not applied to the choice of your dress, we will have shawls and/or jackets that you will be required to wear the rest of the night.

“How beautiful then is modesty and what a gem among virtues it is.” – St. Bernard, Confessor and Doctor of the Church

Boys:

This is a formal dress event.

Dress shirt, dress pants, and a tie are adequate attire.

Although jackets are prescribed, they are not required.

Tuxedos and suits are optional.

No shorts or jeans.

“By the virtue of modesty the devout person governs all his exterior acts. With good reason, then, does St. Paul recommend this virtue to all and as if this were not enough he considers that this virtue should be obvious to all.” – St. Padre Pio

Shoes:

Converse tennis shoes and cowboy boots are not permitted.

We want to encourage a modest and Christian formal so that we may glorify Our Loving Father in Heaven.

“A true love of God is necessary to grow in modesty.” – Modesty by Eternal Life
